Ellen Hosafros

Ellen Hosafros, an inductee into the 2025 NPR/PBS-WUFT Artistry in Motion recognition program, is a surrealist, abstract and impressionistic painter using oils, acrylics and alcohol ink. She has previously exhibited at The Brick, NOMA and Webber Gallery.

Drawing upon the unconscious mind, as well as symbols, dreams, and occasionally the spirit world, my surrealistic paintings interpret and explain life as I see it. As an oil painter, I lean into the strange, embrace the unexpected, and revel in the unconventional.
