Lynne Shineman

Lynne Shineman was an art educator at the high school and college level as well as a presenter and teacher at various workshops and art center classes.  As a working artist Lynne has maintained her own studio, where she has several looms, works with  weaving, sewing, paper making, printmaking, collage and painting. 

I like to work with a variety of materials, my handmade paper and various found objects.   As a  collage artist, texture and natural colors and fibers are my go to palette.  Flowers and leaves are dried and pressed in a traditional method to preserve them, then often added to the paper mulch.  

 I am learning to play the mountain dulcimer and many of the tunes are slow melodic love ballads, often tragic.  They are the poetry and stories of the mountains.  The song Careless Love inspired this piece.
