Description of Exhibit: Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA), in pARTnership with the Philanthro-Creatives, are excited to announce an open call for their May 2025 juried exhibit; ‘Melodic Metamorphosis’. We encourage all artists to submit pieces that explore the transformative power of music, art and literature, encouraging introspection about the impact of art, in all its forms, on human creativity and transfiguration.
A portion collected from this exhibit will benefit two local non-profits; the Marion County Literacy Council (MCLC) and Arts in Health Ocala Metro (AIHOM).
Theme & Medium: Dynamic, fluid pieces capturing the movement, rhythm, and journey of change and evolution. All mediums accepted.
Eligibility: Open to MCA Artist Members (Not a member? Join online at mcaocala.org!)
Submission Format: Each artist may submit one (1) original piece for consideration. Digital images of the artwork should be submitted via ArtCall in high resolution along with an artist statement detailing how the piece is related to the theme. The piece must be created in the last twelve (12) months and not shown prior to this exhibit. The size limit is 30 x 30. If the entry is written it must be printed and shown in an artistic manner. All entries will be juried by the Philanthro-Creatives and the MCA Gallery Committee.
Deadline: All entries are to be submitted digitally no later than Friday, April 11th, 2025 by 11:59pm via MCA’s ArtCall platform. No physical or mailed in submissions will be accepted or considered. Participants will be notified of their status by April 14th, 2025, via ArtCall email.
Awards: A select judge will award 1st Place ($500) 2nd Place ($250), and 3rd Place ($125). The Best in Show winner will be selected by the Philanthro-Creatives (Laurie Zink, David Kellner and Jessica Carter).
